The project aimed to highlight the well-preserved original character of the house and create an oasis of peace for the owners' family. Opening up the kitchen to the living room and linking them both to the terrace in the garden were key to creating a space with such an airy feel. The soul of the project is found in the preservation or replication of the original elements of the structure, from the elegant proportions of the house to the curved balustrades and the original petrol-green paint used on its windows. The owners decided to use this rich color to accent the kitchen as well, where green cabinets give the room a boost of energy.
TechniStone® material showcases everlasting beauty in its timeless design.
Because the design was bold, yet meant to last, the architects insisted on high-quality, durable materials. TechniStone® engineered stone was used in several places in playful combinations of several different decors. A custom-designed dining table features the extravagant texture of Technistone's Taurus Terazzo White decor combined with the lively color of its structural elements. The table is a centerpiece of the house that is impossible to overlook.
The petrol-green color of the kitchen is enhanced by a countertop in Noble Quartzite. The soft beige shade of the countertop imparts a sense of calm and harmony to the kitchen, which is heightened by the solid character of the engineered stone. The bathroom is done in complementary shades of pastel pink and navy blue. It benefits from the warm tones of the Noble Olympos Mist decor.
The unifying principle of the design, which permeates the entire house, is the contrast between the straight, clean lines of the building’s cubist architecture and the kitchen with curves of all kinds. Custom-designed built-in furniture and the use of rich, vibrant colors give the interior an imaginative flair. Combined with quality materials such as TechniStone® engineered stone, they invite a young family to enjoy their life at home.
